A Bible OverView (ABOV) was originally designed as a lecture for presentation in a home setting to friends who were either curious about the Bible, knew little about it, or who wanted to enhance their understanding of how it all fits together. The audience grew as Linda Ebert taught ABOV for over 20 years in homes, jails, churches, and a university campus. To make it available to a larger audience, she enlisted her husband, John, to put it on video. Thus, the study is now available on the web for viewing and download.
ABOV presents a big picture summary of the entire Bible using the Bible narrative itself- as much as possible- to tell its central themes and message. ABOV consists of an Introduction (10 minutes) and 12 video sessions 25-45 minutes each for a total of approximately 6 hours. Helpful teaching guidance is available for those who want to use ABOV in a group setting with Discussion Questions as part of each session. For further study, Information Papers are provided on selected topics.
Since the Bible is the world’s best-selling and most widely distributed book, knowledge of the Bible should be part of a good education.
This study is designed to let the Bible speak for itself.
